Bastardo is a Chicago based art group formed in 2009. The members collaborate together on works that take shape through the progressive marks, reactions, and editing of each artist’s contributions. They take turns submitting an image, rotating and agitating the original, and the others attempt to reconcile the competing sensibilities to find the harmonies within it. Currently the group works in several formats including easel-sized paintings, zines, collage, and large scale public assemblages.
